Artist Statement
“ For a long time I’ve wanted to become a doctor to help others around me. I didn’t become a doctor, but as an artist I still see myself as a healer. For me art is a way te heal our wounds and celebrate life in all it’s harshness and beauty.
I work as an interdisciplinary artist in search of the boundaries between the satisfying comfort and the repellent unease. Where is the crossover of that what we see as familiar of the known and the unknown of the absurd?
For me absurdism stands for the incomprehensible of the reality of life itself. By using metaphors and allegories I can illustrate certain emotional processes into a visual image, in the hope to create work that eventually will say more than words will ever be able to.
My work is mainly lens based media, but in the end the story and concept will be directory for my choice of media. I work with psychological themes about our internal conflicts. Through my projects I try to open up the possibility to start a conversation about the grim world around us and our experiences within. ”
